A parent in Thai Binh felt uneasy and frustrated when his child’s scores “danced” inexplicably.
The case of incorrect 10th grade entrance exam scores for the 2024-2025 school year is still receiving great public attention. Three days after Thai Binh province announced the inspection results, there have been many strange stories of candidates who were passing but suddenly failed. Recently, an upset parent revealed that her child’s exam scores were “dancing” in an inexplicable way.
Share on VietNamNetMs. Bui Thi Diep (in Thai Binh City) said that her child LKA took the 10th grade entrance exam recently. In the first announcement of exam results, child A. passed the entrance exam to Chu Van An High School.
On August 20, when the new test scores were available after the inspection, Ms. Diep checked again and saw that her child’s Math score had increased by 1 point (from 4.5 to 5.5 points), while the Literature and English scores remained the same. The whole family breathed a sigh of relief, assured that her child would still pass.
Chu Van An High School, Thai Binh.
But one day later (August 21), A.’s homeroom teacher announced that she had failed. The family was shocked when they checked again and found that her Math score had dropped from 5.5 points to only 0.5 points, while the scores for the other two subjects remained the same. With this result, A., who had passed, suddenly failed. Ms. Diep took pictures of her child’s scores all three times she checked her child’s scores. Ms. Diep added that when she came back from the Math test, comparing the answers, A. estimated that she got about 5 points.
The fact that her child’s test scores “jumped” made Ms. Diep uneasy and felt that the scores she received did not accurately reflect her child’s test results. The family hopes that the authorities will clarify and explain the unusual math scores so that A. can understand and have the opportunity to go to school.
Regarding this incident, the leader of Thai Binh Provincial People’s Committee said that he had received the information and directed the Department of Education and Training to verify.
Previously, many other parents were also extremely upset that their children were on the list of candidates who passed and failed.
Above VTC NewsMr. NVN (Nam Ha commune, Tien Hai district) shared the story of his daughter, NHY, also a candidate who was rejoicing in the joy of passing the high school exam, but now her psychology is affected because she failed.
Mr. N. confided that his child had gone to receive a class, bought books, school supplies, and an electric bike to go to school. His parents had attended parent-teacher meetings twice, but now he failed again. This incident shocked the whole family. Now Y. does not know which school to go to, and who will leave the books he bought?
The stories of these families are heartbreaking. Hundreds of students and their parents have been left in dire straits due to unfortunate mistakes.
