This is one of four component projects of the coastal road project connecting Tien Giang – Ben Bamboo – Tra Vinh. Attending the ceremony was Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh praised the efforts of the leaders of Ben Tre province and the companionship of people in the project area to start construction of Ba Lai 8 bridge and launch the coastal road project. The Ba Lai 8 bridge project has a total investment capital of 2,250 billion VND, of which central capital is nearly 1,500 billion VND, the remaining is counterpart capital from the local budget. According to the investor, the Ba Lai 8 bridge project has a total route scale of 12.9 km. The bridge has a length of 527 m, the bridge deck is 22.5 m wide; The road section is 12.37 km long, design speed is 80 km/h. The bridge spans the Ba Lai River, connecting the two districts Binh Dai and Ba Tri. On the route there are also 4 simple bridges, culverts across the road and 2 roundabouts connecting DT886 and QL57B.
Ba Lai 8 bridge project is one of four component projects of the floating coastal road project in 3 provinces of Tien Giang – Ben Tre – Tra Vinh. The entire route (both bridges and roads) has a total length of 52.5 km, with a total estimated investment capital of more than 18,300 billion VND.
The remaining 3 component projects of the coastal road project connecting 3 provinces of Ben Tre – Tien Giang – Tra Vinh are the Cua Dai bridge project being researched and designed by the People’s Committee of Tien Giang province; Co Chien 2 bridge project (Tra Vinh province is the investor) and coastal road in Ben Tre province.
