According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the 10th grade entrance exam in 2025 will be based on the requirements to be met in the 2018 General Education Program, mainly grades 8 and 9.
In particular, the reading comprehension section of the 10th grade literature entrance exam will take material from outside the textbook. Includes literary texts and one of two types: argumentative texts or informational texts. The total length of the materials in the test must not exceed 1,300 words.
As for the 10th grade math entrance exam, the number of practical math problems will be reduced compared to previous years.
The 10th grade math entrance exam will include the following knowledge strands: Geometry and Measurement; Numbers and Algebra; Statistics and Probability.
The test content aims to evaluate mathematical abilities: Mathematical thinking and reasoning; Solve math problems; Mathematical modeling.
In particular, the exam will require students to know how to apply the knowledge they have learned to solve practical problems. Encourage self-study and creativity, avoid memorization and rote learning.
The content of the assessment test is to help students orient some of the necessary knowledge and skills when entering high school.
The 10th grade English entrance exam has 2 new questions
According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the 2025 grade 10 English entrance exam will have 2 new questions about writing appropriate phrases according to the given information. This question tests your ability to read dictionary notes to find linguistic information and apply knowledge.
It is known that the 2024-2025 school year is the first year that 9th grade students will take the 10th grade entrance exam according to the new program.
