PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen met with Mori Masahiko, president of Japanese company DMG Mori Seiki, to discuss how they can work together to improve Cambodia’s position in the digital revolution.
The bilateral meeting took place at the Peace Palace on May 23, during which Masahiko praised the achievements of the Cambodia-Japan Digital Production Center, which promotes the digitalization of Cambodia’s industrial trade through human resource development and industrial cooperation in digital systems. DMG Mori Seiki president agreed to continue technical training for Cambodians in addition to educating Cambodian technical students, a project for which he has asked the Prime Minister for support.
The Prime Minister expressed his support for the project and assured Masahiko that Cambodia is promoting its digital sector with two goals in mind. The first is to attract investment in the processing of raw materials used in export-oriented technologies, and the second is to generate more innovative technologies domestically. To this end, the Prime Minister requested support from DMG Mori Seiki and the Japanese government to advance Cambodia’s digital sector.
