In mid-August, Nissan officially launched the new Kicks in North America. At the same time, the car also had a reference price with a starting price of 21,830 USD, equivalent to 547.7 million VND. The above figure is only 490 USD (12.3 million VND) higher than the previous generation.
Outstanding standard equipment and features announced for the new Nissan Kicks include adaptive Cruise Control, exterior LED lights, a 7-inch central touchscreen and the Nissan Safety Shield 360 safety technology package (automatic emergency braking, adaptive headlights…).
For the first time on the Kicks, all-wheel drive is available as an optional extra on all trim levels. Starting at the mid-level, you’ll get a 12.3-inch central touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, and 17-inch wheels.
The top-of-the-line version announced for the new Nissan Kicks uses the largest 19-inch wheels, exclusive LED headlights, two-tone stitching in the interior, a 12.3-inch digital dashboard and, for the first time on the Kicks, the ProPilot hands-free driving assistance system.
Some notable optional extras on the new Nissan Kicks include heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a premium 10-speaker Bose system, and a heated steering wheel.
First launched in March this year, the 2024 Nissan Kicks has a significantly more square and angular overall appearance than its predecessor. The front of the car uses horizontal LED lights that run seamlessly with the horizontal bars at the central radiator. As Nissan said, the company’s signature V-Motion radiator has completely disappeared.
The side of the car has a sportier window frame interface, most notably with the blacked-out rear pillar that connects to the tailgate. The rear of the car is equipped with exclusive 3-tier LED taillights, in which the top tier has a seamless horizontal light that goes on the tailgate.
The dimensions of the 2024 Nissan Kicks are announced at 4,366 x 1,801 x 1,626 (mm). The wheelbase is slightly different between the front-wheel drive version (2,657mm) and the 2-wheel drive version (2,664mm). All of the vehicle’s parameters have increased compared to the first generation (4,295 x 1,760 x 1,590 (mm), wheelbase 2,610mm), most notably the length and wheelbase to make the cabin more spacious.
In terms of technology and transmission, the 2024 Nissan Kicks uses a new 2.0L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine by default. The vehicle’s capacity is announced at 139 horsepower, 190Nm of torque. Compared to the original 8 years ago running a 1.6L engine, the 2024 Nissan Kicks is 17 horsepower, 36Nm more powerful.
The new engine is mated to the latest Xtronic CVT automatic transmission, which sends power to the front axle (default version) or both axles (premium version). Optional 2-wheel drive, 213mm ground clearance and a new Snow driving mode promise to slightly improve the off-road performance of the compact SUV.
