Speaking on September 10, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova Russia said Moscow had anticipated the possibility of Ukraine stepping up its attacks.
“Everything is happening exactly as we said before: the weaker the Kiev authorities become on the battlefield, despite receiving massive financial and military support, the more they seek revenge by engaging in terrorist activities,” Zakharova stressed on Solovyov Live TV.
According to the Russian spokesman, the country will make an appropriate political assessment and address this issue with international organizations.
Earlier, Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported that a Ukrainian drone attack overnight damaged several apartment buildings. At least one person was killed, three were injured, and 43 people were taken to temporary shelters. This is the largest attack by Kiev on the Russian capital region to date.
During the night, Russian air defense forces shot down 14 drones in the Podolsk, Ramenskoye, Lyubertsy, Domodedovo and Kolomna regions.
The Russia-Ukraine conflict heated up after Kiev suddenly sent troops across the border to attack Kursk region Russia since early August 2024. Russia has responded by stepping up its attacks on eastern Ukraine.
On September 10, TASS news agency quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying that Russia had a plan to push back Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region.
“Of course, the military has all the necessary plans, but I don’t think these plans can be discussed publicly,” Peskov said when asked when Ukrainian troops would be pushed out of Russian territory.
