ARLINGTON, Texas (NV) – Country music star Ingrid Andress apologized for drunkenly singing the US national anthem at the 2024 Home Run Derby baseball contest in Texas earlier this week, according to ABC News on Tuesday, July 16.
Video of Andress’ performance at Globe Life Field in Arlington Monday night went viral on social media.
“I was drunk last night,” Andress wrote on Instagram Tuesday.
Andress said she will go to rehab.
“Today, I am checking into rehab,” she wrote. “Last night, I was not myself. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country that I love so much for singing like that. I will tell you what rehab is like. I hear it is fun.”
After the incident, Andress announced the cancellation of two upcoming shows at Row One in Nashville, Tennessee, this Wednesday night and at Globe Hall in Denver, Colorado, next Wednesday, according to the New York Post.
Andress, 32, is a four-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter best known for her song “More Hearts Than Mine” and her duet with Sam Hunt, “Wishful Drinking.” (Th.Long)
