According to Ukrainian sources, a Russian ammunition depot caught fire after Kiev’s attack. Russia said it had captured another village in the east near the city of Pokrovsk.
On September 7, many drones of Ukraine attacked an ammunition depot in the Russian border region of Voronezh at dawn. Kiev believes the depot is used by Russian forces to transport equipment and ammunition to Ukraine.
A large fire and several explosions were reported overnight in the Voronezh region, forcing officials to evacuate people living near the fire zone, AFP news agency reported.
On Telegram, Governor Alexander Gusev of the Voronezh region said there were no casualties.
Mr Gusev said a Ukrainian drone crashed and caused a large fire, which spread to the explosive devices and caused them to explode. However, he did not provide details about the facility where the incident occurred.
Revealing to Reuters News Agency, a Ukrainian source said the above operation was Security Agency Ukraine (SBU) implemented.
There are still four large fire spots visible at the site, as well as ammunition that is still exploding. The ammunition depot is located in the village of Soldatskoe.
Meanwhile, on the same day September 7, Ministry of Defense Russia announced on Telegram that Russian forces have captured the village of Kalynove in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine.
Kalynove village is located in the southeast Pokrovsk citya major logistics hub for Ukraine. While Ukraine is maintaining its offensive in the Kursk region on the Russian border, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged the difficulties Ukrainian forces face in the east of the country, especially near the city of Pokrovsk.
